chesconotary.com is operated by ChesCo Notary, a registered fictitious name of ZigZag Aerial LLC. Notarial acts are performed personally by Christopher J Abt, a notary public commissioned in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania (Commission #1470081). Only a commissioned individual can perform a notarial act, so every notarization booked through this site is performed by me personally.
I am not an attorney licensed to practice law in this Commonwealth. I am not allowed to draft legal records, give advice on legal matters, including immigration, or charge a fee for those activities.
Everything on this site, including the FAQ, the service pages, and the notary tools, is general information about notarization in Pennsylvania. It is not legal advice and doesn't create an attorney-client relationship. If you need to know which document to sign, how it should be worded, or whether it will do what you want, ask an attorney.
Sending a form, call, text, or email is a request, not a confirmed appointment. An appointment is confirmed when I confirm it with you directly, along with the travel fee and any other charges that apply.
Statutory notarial fees are capped by the Commonwealth and are listed on the fee page. The travel and convenience fee is separate, is quoted before I travel, and is itemized separately on your receipt. Cancellation, wait-time, and other appointment charges apply only if I told you about them when you booked.
Pennsylvania law requires me to refuse a notarial act when I can't satisfactorily identify a signer, when a signer doesn't appear to understand what they're signing or to be signing willingly, when a document is incomplete, or when the act would otherwise be improper. I can also decline any act I'm not permitted or qualified to perform. If that happens, the notarial fee isn't charged; the travel fee already incurred may still apply, as disclosed at booking.
The checklists and calculators under Notary tools are there to help you prepare. They give general guidance based on your answers and can't account for every document or situation. They don't guarantee that a particular document can be notarized, or that it will be accepted by whoever asked for it.
I work to keep the information here correct and cite official sources where I can. Laws, fees, and agency procedures change, and I can't promise every page is current at every moment. If you spot something wrong, tell me and I'll fix it.
Please don't misuse the site: no submitting false requests or spam through the forms, no attempting to disrupt or gain unauthorized access to it, and no scraping it in a way that burdens it.
The text, design, logo, and images on this site belong to ChesCo Notary or are used with permission. You're welcome to link to any page and to share it. Please don't copy the content or branding for your own business. My notary seal is an official seal, not a design asset, and may not be reproduced from this site for any purpose.
I link to government sources and to a few other sites for convenience. I don't control those sites and I'm not responsible for their content or their privacy practices.
The site and its contents are provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, I'm not liable for any loss arising from your use of the website or reliance on its general information. This doesn't limit any responsibility I have under Pennsylvania law for the notarial acts I perform, or any right you have that can't be waived.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Any dispute about them belongs in the courts of Chester County, Pennsylvania.
I may update these terms. The effective date above shows when they last changed, and the version on this page is the one that applies.
