Notary Service
When you hire someone who works remotely or lives far from your HR office, federal law still requires a person to physically examine that new employee’s identity and work-authorization documents and complete Section 2 of Form I-9. I do that in person as your company’s authorized representative, meeting your new hire anywhere in the Chester County area, examining the original documents, and completing and signing Section 2 on your behalf.
One important distinction: completing an I-9 is not a notarial act, and I don’t apply a notary seal to it. I act strictly as your authorized representative, follow the instructions you provide, and return the completed form to you. This is a routine need for the area’s distribution, agricultural, and professional employers hiring across county and state lines, where getting a new hire to a home office isn’t practical.
I’m Christopher J Abt, operating as ChesCo Notary (Pennsylvania notary Commission #1470081). I verify and record the documents your employee presents. I don’t determine work eligibility or give legal or immigration advice. Send the form and your instructions, and I’ll handle the in-person verification on your schedule.
